Faith, Family, and Writing

My statement of faith:
I believe in the one true God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and lived a sinless life. He atoned for our sins by dying on the cross and overcame death when he rose on the third day. We are all born in sin and deserve the consequences of sin, which is death. The good news is Jesus died for all of us through God's grace. It can not be earned by our good works because it's a gift. All we need to do is accept it. The Holy Spirit is sent to every believer to reveal Christ's glory to us, comfort us, and convict us. With the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, we are able to live in a way that honors God, our Creator, while existing in a world where evil runs rampant. By faith we live a life pleasing to God through worship, studying His Word - the Bible, and spreading the Good News of Salvation to the four corners of the earth. I believe Jesus is returning to this world to beat the devil once and for all and to take His Bride, the Church (those who believe in Him) home!

Linda: the writer
I've had a love of writing for as long as I can remember, but for many years I considered it a hobby. I'd write poems, journals, and short stories. I even filled up an 8 X 11 notebook with my version of a novel. When I began to transfer my novel to a computer, I caught the fever of writing. It took several years before I realized my "hobby" was a gift from God--a gift I needed to share to bless others and glorify Him. From its humble beginnings in an 8 X 11 notebook, Singing Winds is now a published novel officially released July of 2007.

Linda: wife, mother, native Californian
The oldest of seven children, I was born and raised in rural Northern California, about sixty miles north of San Francisco. I had a great childhood growing up in the country in the midst of prune orchards, pasture land, redwood forests, and the best swimming holes within walking distance. I graduated from Healdsburg High in 1976, joined the Army in 1977, and in 1983 married Robert. After enjoying 15 years of marriage, we adopted our beautiful daughter, Michelle. We currently live in a remote mountain town in Shasta County on ten acres we share with our two dogs, two cats, and an abundance of wild creatures.
